## Which calculator should I use?

Choose the calculator for the place where the customer pays you. Check marketplace and fulfilment fees for a marketplace order, payment and running costs for your own store, or supplier recovery and acquisition costs for dropshipping. Replace the example costs with your own before deciding how much an order can support in advertising.

## Which calculator fits a marketplace seller?

Use a marketplace calculator when the platform takes a fee from every sale: a category referral or final value fee, plus fulfilment or listing charges. Each page adds the charge that is specific to that marketplace.

- [Etsy Fee Calculator](https://www.productmetrics.io/calculators/etsy-fee-profit-calculator): Offsite Ads toggle: 15% until qualified, 12% after, capped at $100 per order
- [eBay Fee Calculator](https://www.productmetrics.io/calculators/ebay-fee-profit-calculator): Tiered final value fee, the per-order charge and the ROAS a promoted listing rate implies
- [Amazon Profit Calculator](https://www.productmetrics.io/calculators/amazon-fee-profit-calculator): Your own FBA fulfilment and storage quote, and ACOS entered on the same revenue basis as ROAS
- [Walmart Fee Calculator](https://www.productmetrics.io/calculators/walmart-fee-profit-calculator): WFS weight bands compared with seller-fulfilled shipping
- [TikTok Shop Fee Calculator](https://www.productmetrics.io/calculators/tiktok-shop-fee-profit-calculator): Creator commission on top of the referral fee, off by default

## Which calculator fits a seller with their own store?

Use a store calculator when you take the payment yourself. There is no marketplace commission, so the payment gateway, the plan or hosting bill and your shipping decide how much of each order is left.

- [Shopify Fee Calculator](https://www.productmetrics.io/calculators/shopify-fee-profit-calculator): Optional third-party gateway fee on top of card processing, with the monthly plan as overhead
- [WooCommerce Profit Calculator](https://www.productmetrics.io/calculators/woocommerce-fee-profit-calculator): Payment gateway choice (WooPayments, Stripe, PayPal) and hosting, plugin and theme costs spread over your monthly orders

## Which calculator fits a dropshipper?

Use the dropshipping calculator when a supplier ships the order. Nobody charges a dropshipping fee, so the risk sits in supplier cost, refunds, chargebacks and what you can afford to spend on ads.

- [Dropshipping Profit Calculator](https://www.productmetrics.io/calculators/dropshipping-profit-calculator): Supplier recovery on returns, chargeback losses with the dispute fee, and the maximum ad spend per order at your margin
- [Dropshipping break-even ROAS and CPA calculator](https://www.productmetrics.io/calculators/dropshipping-break-even-calculator): Calculate your maximum CPA and CPC, then estimate a click-based ad test in euros.

## When do I need the margin, break-even ROAS or POAS calculator instead?

Use a generic calculator when you have no platform fee to subtract, or when you only need one number. The margin calculator turns cost and price into margin or markup. The break-even ROAS calculator and the POAS calculator work from the contribution you already know.

## Questions about the platform calculators

### Which profit calculator should I use for my platform?

Use the calculator named after the place the customer pays you. Marketplace calculators apply category fees, store calculators apply payment gateway fees, and the dropshipping calculator adds supplier, refund and chargeback losses. Start with the page that matches your checkout, then change any fee to match your account.

### How is a platform calculator different from the margin calculator?

The margin calculator turns a cost and a price into margin or markup. A platform calculator also subtracts that platform’s fees, shipping, returns and ad spend, then shows your maximum ad spend and break-even ROAS. Use the margin calculator for a quick price check and a platform calculator for order profit.

### Are the fee presets current?

Presets come from each platform’s official fee pages, checked on 15 October 2026 and due for review on 15 January 2027. Fees change by category, plan and country, so edit any preset to match your account. Each page links the documents it used and says what it leaves out.

### Do these calculators work outside the United States?

No. They use US dollars and US fee schedules, and each page says what its presets cover. Fees, taxes and rates differ in other countries. For margin, break-even ROAS and POAS in euros or other currencies, use the generic calculators, which have their own currency controls.
