# Maximise product performance. Grow your ecommerce profit.

See what each product earns in Google Shopping and Performance Max. Check its journeys, competitor prices, margin and stock before deciding what to push, fix or pause.

1. **Segment.** Product Metrics ML segmented 12,400 products. Return: POAS, target 2.
2. **Product.** Nike Pegasus 42: 4,820 clicks, POAS 1.4 against a 2 target. On ads data alone, the playbook says lower its priority.
3. **Context.** Context says: Star candidate. Ads alone said: lower priority. Journeys, margin and stock say push. Price position is labelled, never changed.
4. **Action.** Rules run after segmentation and write labels to your Merchant Center feed. Rule “Promote Star candidates”: when POAS ≥ 1.4, margin ≥ 40% and stock cover > 8 weeks, set custom_label_0 to star_candidate.

Illustrative data: Performance Summary by Product Segment, last 30 days (12,400 example Nike products). Revenue less ad spend excludes product costs and other variable costs.:

## Six segments for every product. Product Metrics ML segments your products by potential and profitability.

Volume is ad clicks. Return is ROAS or POAS against your target; here POAS, target 2.:

| Segment | Products | Share of products | Price ratio | Seasonality | Ad spend | Revenue | ROAS | POAS | custom_label_0 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Stars | 806 | 6.5% | 0.94 | High, 1.4× | €28,704 | €184,236 | 6.42 | 2.82 | stars |

## Compare your products against your competitors. Review options and prices like your customers do.

Illustrative data: Nike Pegasus 42 through the same matching pipeline on two match keys:

| Step | Match on GTIN | Match on your dimensions |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Product | Start from the Nike Pegasus 42 at its €139.99 list price. | Start from the Nike Pegasus 42 at its €139.99 list price. |
| Match key | Match on GTIN: the Pegasus barcode is Nike’s own. | Match on the dimensions you approved, not on a barcode. |
| Scan sites | Both sites are scanned. No product carries the Pegasus GTIN. | adidas.nl and eu.puma.com/nl are scanned for own-brand daily trainers. |
| Match | Zero matches. GTIN tools stop here for every own-brand product. | Comparable trainers are matched. Near-misses stay visible with the reason. |
| Position & label | No price position, so no market context reaches Google Ads. | Price position becomes a Merchant Center label your rules can use. |

Price position 4 of 5: 3 of 4 comparable trainers cost less. Price ratio 1.08, price difference +€10.01 against the €129.98 median. Context for performance; the pricing call stays yours.

_Example using public list prices from nike.com/nl and eu.puma.com/nl, checked 30 Sep 2026; adidas prices marked ≈ are EU launch prices. Performance data is illustrative. Product Metrics is not affiliated with Nike, adidas or PUMA._

## Server-side, adblocker-proof conversion tracking. Full Signal gets through every adblocker, and auto-rotates if its endpoint is ever blocked.

1. **Adblocker on.** Filter lists block the default Google Ads tag. Your unique endpoint on nike.com passes.
2. **Rotation on standby.** Auto-rotation swaps in a fresh endpoint only if this one is ever blocked.
3. **Signal kept.** The default tag loses the Pegasus 42 order. Full Signal Tracking delivers it with value, order ID and click ID.

_Illustrative data. Example with Nike products; Product Metrics is not affiliated with Nike, adidas or PUMA. Endpoint paths and click IDs are examples._

## Leverage AI with product context. Get Prioritized actions based on Advertising, Web Analytics, Price, Margin and Inventory Data.

1. **Advertising performance.** On its own, Pegasus 42 is a Question Mark: 4,820 clicks at POAS 1.4 against a 2 target.
2. **Product journeys.** From ad click to purchase, per product. Sessions that land on Pegasus 42 go on to buy Everyday Cushioned socks and the Miler running top. Last-click POAS misses that basket.
3. **Competitor prices.** Matched on use, cushioning, drop, plate, weight and colour: PUMA Electrify NITRO 4 €99.95, PUMA Velocity NITRO 5 €129.95, adidas Adizero SL2 ≈ €130.00 and adidas Supernova Rise 3 ≈ €150.00. Pegasus 42 sits €10.01 above the €129.98 median, cheaper than 1 of 4.
4. **Margin & economics.** A 44% margin puts break-even ROAS at 2.27. At 3.18 today, every sale already makes money.
5. **Inventory.** 1,240 pairs, about 16 weeks of cover. Enough stock to carry more demand.

Nike Pegasus 42 (IB1873-007, €139.99) with all five layers:

| Layer | Value | Detail |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Advertising | POAS 1.4 vs target 2 | 4,820 clicks, €2,420 cost, last 30 days |
| Journeys | Entry product for socks and tops | Next buys: Everyday Cushioned socks, Miler top |
| Market | €10.01 above the €129.98 median | 4 comparable adidas and PUMA trainers, cheaper than 1 of 4 |
| Margin | 44% margin | Break-even ROAS 2.27, current ROAS 3.18 |
| Inventory | 1,240 pairs, ≈16 weeks of cover | Enough stock to carry more demand |

- **Decision.** Push, Star candidate
- **Why.** Enough stock for more demand. Every layer points the same way: push.
- **custom_label_0.** star_candidate
- **custom_label_2.** above_median

## Questions buyers ask first. Anything else? Ask Berend.

### How does Product Metrics decide a product’s segment, and do segments stay stable?

Machine learning places each product in one of six segments by volume (ad clicks) and return (ROAS or POAS against your target). Minimum-click thresholds keep segments stable from week to week. Product rules and your own Product Score (0–100) keep you in control.

### Do I need margin data?

No. Product Metrics works on ROAS right away. Connect your margins to switch to POAS.

### What do I connect, and how much setup is it?

Connect your own Google account, or your MCC. Product Metrics reads your data and writes only the labels you approve. Works with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Lightspeed and Shopware 6, for 500 to 50,000 products on Performance Max and standard Shopping.

### How is this different from feed-label tools, feed rules, scripts or building it ourselves?

Labels are one output. Product Metrics connects ML segmentation with journeys, competitor prices, stock and margin, so you see why a product performs. Labels reach Merchant Center without feed rules to maintain.

### Can I trust my tracking and GA4 data?

Default tags lose conversions to adblockers and privacy rules. Full Signal Tracking gets through every adblocker, and auto-rotates its endpoint if it is ever blocked. It is included in Pro, not billed separately.

### Can I compare competitor prices without a shared GTIN?

Yes. Competitor Prices matches own-brand products on style, colour and dimensions you define, with AI to help, and approve. You see your price position; Product Metrics never changes a price. Price Monitoring is an add-on at €0.004 per scrape.

### What does it cost, and what is free?

A graduated share of your rolling 30-day Google Shopping spend, excl. VAT, no minimum. The first €10K is free; €50,000 a month costs €247.50. The free analysis needs no card; the 30-day trial does, and cancelling during the trial costs nothing. Each agency client account gets its own free €10K.

### Is Product Metrics an attribution tool?

No, Product Metrics is not an attribution tool. It explains product performance: what each product sells after the click, next to its competitor prices, margin and stock.
